Your life is what YOU make of it...

This blog was thought of because of this amazing quote:

"Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it."  ~Buddha

Pretty self-explanatory really. In life, you get what you put in. You're not going to get in shape, be successful, and get places in life by sitting around and just hoping for it to happen. You have to initiate that effort and the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.

I was taught that "you are who you hang out with." So I have chosen for myself to hang around happy, motivated, smart, loving, and inspirational people. If you hang out with people that are negative with life, chances are, they're going to bring out the 'negative' in you. If you are around people that strive for success, chances are, you're going to want the same for yourself.

So make sure you choose your friends wisely. Or, make sure you choose your LIFE wisely. It is how YOU make it so you might as well make it the way YOU want it to be. Never give up.

Summer is coming... Time to look and feel good in those tiny clothes!

I woke up today with the sun just shining in my face and even though I'm not a morning person, I woke up with a smile. It was that moment that I realized Spring is around the corner... And I couldn't be more excited!

Nothing feels better than feeling good in your bikini, short shorts, sundresses, and all the cute little summer clothes, but the hardest part is getting there!

The math is pretty simple. We all know what it takes to lose weight, but I am going to share some of my favorite tips:

-Don't eat any salt for 72 hours prior to being in a bikini, you will shed at least a pound or two of water weight without even changing your diet.

-Stay away from soda! Even diet sodas contain a lot of sodium and they bloat you and make you look larger than you really are!

-Drink a lot of water; it flushes all the toxins out of your body and keeps you 'regular.'

-I replace homemade iced brewed tea (with no sugar, add fresh squeezed lemon) to quench my thirst and it usually suppresses my cravings as well!

-Work out 3-4 days a week and do 45 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training. Make sure you push yourself. You made it to the gym, now it's just up to you if you're going to make something of it!

-I love juicing! I bought a juicer and I juice every day as a snack or as part of my breakfast. I will have a small bowl of oatmeal and juice a mixture of kale, celery, cucumber, an apple, an orange, and carrots. It tastes yummy and it's filled with fiber and nutrients!

Those are just some of my favorite weight loss, body loving tips! You hear the saying: "You are what you eat..." So eat well and be good to your body... it will make you feel great and your body will be great to you back! And I've learned from experience that the first two weeks are a struggle of getting on track, but once you're in the routine- it just comes natural! And it naturally feels great!

LOVE... we all need it; in all shapes and forms... YOU DESERVE TO BE LOVED.

I bet you're thinking I'm talking about a guy again, right? Wrong. Even though I am quite boy crazy, this entry is actually about the love for a best friend... who I guess you could possibly be in love with, but not in this case. Some friends become family... She is that friend.

I remember being a teenager and friends were dependent on status, looks, and what kind of car they drove, but 'friends' aren't about that... Materials are short-lived, status may not last forever, looks fade, fashion comes and goes, and money... well, money could be here today and gone tomorrow.

Have you ever connected with someone in a way that nothing will stop you from saying or doing anything? It doesn't matter if you have something in your teeth (chances are you put it there on purpose to make them laugh) or how you look for the day because no matter what, they just love being around you? Well, this would be my best friend Vanessa. I can do, say, look bad, be sad, be happy, be mad, whatever... this girls just gets me. I'm so stubborn and she is one that will just shut me up and I listen... because I trust the advice she's giving me.

A good friend is someone that is ALWAYS looking out for your best interest, no matter what. A good friend isn't jealous of you, but praises you for your good work and accomplishments. A good friend supports you in EVERYTHING you do and not when it's just convenient for them.

I never thought it was possible to have a friend that you truly can count on for anything and everything... I was raised to be loyal and to be honest, it's part of who I am. In life, I have noticed that it usually isn't returned and I have been walked all over countless times; yet for some reason, it hasn't stopped me.

I am writing this entry and dedicating it to my best friend, Vanessa. I just wished her "good luck" on her move clear across the country to Boston, MA. I can't stop crying because I miss her so much. I keep thinking of the saying "this isn't goodbye, it's see you later," but it just hurts so bad knowing that she's going to be so far away. I've never had a friend like her, but thank goodness for technology today so it will be much easier to keep in touch... Lot's of girl time Skype dates; that's for sure!

I wish you all the best in the journey of finding that one person, guy or girl, that can/will have the pleasure of being your best friend. I think it's so important to be loyal in life and to have someone give it back to you in return.  I hope you find that person that would never lead you astray... And most of all, sometimes you just need to shut up and listen to what they have to say. In trust, they're only wanting what's best for you.

You are what you make of your life... And you are who keep yourself around. Keep high spirits, positive, driven, and loving people by your side and you will notice a great return in life. Peace, love, and happiness.
